United World College(UWC)
Ms. Arpita Varghese
The United World College (UWC) represents a global educational movement dedicated to harnessing the power of education to foster unity among individuals, nations, and cultures, ultimately contributing to global peace and sustainability. With an international faculty and student body, there are 18 UWC campuses worldwide, including one situated in Pune, India.
The UWC experience is regarded as transformative, and its curriculum is remarkably flexible and internationally recognized. Despite the evident life-changing potential of a UWC education, the awareness of this unique system appears to be limited among students and parents in Kerala.
In this session, Ms Arpita Varghese, presently serving as a Gender and Humanitarian Action Analyst at UN Women, shares insights into her experiences as an alumna of UWC Mahindra College. Her discourse sheds light on the student life within the UWC framework and highlights the deep impact it has had on her personal and professional trajectory.
