5. Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarship

Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarship is offered to Indian students who wish to pursue a doctorate or bachelor’s degree from St John’s College, University of Cambridge. The objective behind this Scholarship is to provide financial aid to those bright Indian students who qualify to acquire an education from the University of Cambridge but couldn’t do so because of financial constraints. The candidate must be applying for a PhD degree from St John’s College is any of the following subjects, Science and Technology, Economics, Social Sciences, Aerospace Engineering, Marine Engineering, Energy Studies.

The candidate must have a valid Indian passport and his age should not be more than 35 years while applying for the scholarship. The candidate must have acquired a master’s degree from any reputed institution with first class and have good written and communication skills in English.

To apply for this scholarship, the candidate must first complete the Admission procedure for the Doctorate or undergraduate programme that they want to enrol themselves into. Once the admission is confirmed, the candidate can log in to the official website of St John’s College and apply for the scholarship.

6. Erasmus Mundus Scholarship

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree (EMJMD) programme is the perfect opportunity to both learn and have amazing new experiences in European countries. The greatest advantage of taking an EMJMD is the opportunity of having most of your costs covered. The student grant covers the participation costs, a monthly allowance for living costs and a contribution to travel and installation costs. The scholarship also includes a contribution to travel and installation and any other type of costs to be paid in two instalments, as well as the Euroculture participation costs including health insurance coverage for 24 months.

Any student can apply for the Master’s, regardless of their country of origin, as long as they already have a Bachelor’s degree There are almost 200 Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's Degree courses, and each Master's is organised by a different consortium of universities.

Usually, applications for EMJMD programmes are submitted between October and January, but there are courses where the deadline is either in March or even May. Review the official page of each programme to find out the specific application requirements and deadlines.

7. External Scholarships from Ministry of Education, India.

Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education facilitates the process of scholarships/fellowships offered by foreign countries under Cultural/Educational Exchange Programmes. 8. Fulbright Fellowship

Fulbright is one of the most popular scholarships available for those who wants to do Masters or research in USA. This is a cultural exchange programme – established by former US senator William Fulbright. There are various categories of Fulbright scholarship.

  • Fulbright Nehru Fellowships
    The Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowships are designed for highly motivated individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities, have completed the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree, have at least three years professional work experience, and are committed to return and contribute to their communities in India.
  • Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowships

  • Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program
    The Humphrey Fellowship is a specialized, non-degree exchange program for accomplished mid-career professionals. This Fellowship provides 10 months of non-degree academic study and related professional experience in the United States in many fields.
  • Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program (FLTA)
    A nine-month, non-degree program for early career English teachers teaching at college level or professionals in related fields. (e.g., American Studies, American/English Literature, etc.). Selected FLTAs from India will teach Hindi at select U.S. campuses during their nine-month grant.
  • Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program for International Teachers
    Fulbright DAI is a semester-long non-degree, non-credit, professional development program at a U.S. university. The program will provide with a unique opportunity to develop greater expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, increase their knowledge about the United States, and complete an individual or group project.
  • Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program
    The Fulbright TEA program is a six-week non-degree, non-credit academic program at a U.S. University. The Program provide a unique opportunity to develop greater expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge about the United States.
  • Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program
    The Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (SIR) Program brings scholars and professionals from other countries to lecture at U.S. colleges and universities for a semester or full academic year that do not often host visiting scholars.
